b. 1985
Vancouver BC
I have been working as an interdisciplinary artist, communications strategist, and researcher for over a decade focusing on global environmental governance, social movements and human rights. I work best in collaborative settings and enjoy using arts-based, participatory approaches to conceptualize solutions to major social ecological challenges.
I am currently a PhD student at UBC's School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP) researching Coastal Adaptation and Water Governance, and a Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions’ (PICS) scholar with the Living With Water* Project. I am a dual Canadian and Norwegian citizen, and live by Sproat Lake, on the home of the Tseshaht (c̓išaaʔatḥ) and Hupacasath (Hupač̓asath) First Nations on the traditional, unceded and unsurrendered territories of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples - in what is now known as the Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island.
My written work, film contributions and photos have been published/exhibited at the London International Documentary Film Festival, The Centre for Performance Research (NYC), the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, the New Westminster Museum, The Georgia Straight, the Vancouver Art Book Fair, Nowness.com, Booooooom.TV, Cannes, The Guardian, Vice, HoBo, The Toronto Public Library, Huck Magazine, ORB - and for Norsk Billedkunst, Dagens Næringsliv, Bergens Tidende + more in Norway.
